GG Annual 2013 [GOOD IDEA of the Year]

kota_picks

Happy new year!! I am Kota Suzuki, a chief editor of greenz global. This online publication, greenz global which has opened in June last year, aims to spread wonderful social projects and good ideas in Japan. Another critical vision of us is to make a huge community of social entrepreneurs in East Asia.

I wish this new year will be a year our community becomes more bigger and deeper.

In this post, we would like to introduce the most popular article published last year, along with editor’s favourites.

GOOD IDEA OF THE YEAR 2013.

“Hikari-gaoka Share House Project”
Opens the Doors to the Young and the Old

http://greenzglobal.jp/hikarigaoka_project-540.html

WRITTEN BY MIKI MURATA / YASUHIRO OGATA

As people get older, they tend to keep to themselves by staying indoors. A recent survey run by the Japanese government proved that the number of people who die alone are on the increase. On the other hand, young students who live alone also tend to keep to themselves. Some people may not even know the name or the face of their neighbor.

Wouldn’t it be lovely if generations could help each other?

I was very impressed that GOOD.is featured this article on their top and Facebook. This article was written by Miki Murata, a former editorial assistant, logo designer for greenz global. I just thought, ‘we made it!’

LOTS OF HEART PROJECT spreads our “Thank you” over the world.

WRITTEN BY MASAFUMI KAWACHI / KANAKO TOKUTAKE

http://greenzglobal.jp/lots-of-heart-project-3114.html

Established by Youji Shibaoka, LOTS OF HEART PROJECT is a graphic project to show gratitude from Japan to the world. Yoshioka uses heart with a message to call for help. It spreads so widely now that we can see many posters in varied places.

A very eye-catchy article. Personally I was very impressed by Shibaoka-san’s spirit. Our intern, Masa Kawachi did good job too.
